Album Review:

Listening to this album for the first time was like meeting an old friend for the first time in years, it felt so familiar in a comforting kind of way, the beats are all super catchy and the majority of the lyrics feel very light hearted, but they still have their more direct and serious moments. Songs like Footprints and Can I Kick It? really bring me back to when I was younger listening to my parents old CDs, and there's just something about the beat that really calms me down. There's genuine passion within these songs and frankly I'm mad it took this long to hear them. Of course it's not all perfect, the transitions between songs can be a bit jarring at times, and the songs Pubic Enemy and Mr. Muhammad are a bit boring, and the instrumental on Mr. Muhammad is a bit rough, but they're not terrible songs, just a bit below average compaired to the rest of the album. I also really enjoy Bonita Applebum, I'm usually not a big fan of love songs and love song adjacent songs, but this one really gets me in a romantic mood. Going back to the previously mentioned Can I Kick It?, I don't know what it is, but something about this song makes me a bit emotional, and I'm not sure why. Over all, this is a very good album, it has it's rough moments, but it really gets me in a good mood and I highly suggest that you listen to it if you haven't already, the beats have a good bounce to them and the vocals are very fitting for the sound.
